Hybrid SOLO Wilderness First Responder course November 5th to 9th
November 5, 2021 - November 9, 2021
$500.00Hybrid SOLO Wilderness First Responder course NOVEMBER 5 th to 9 th
SOLO has begun a Hybrid WFR course. The participant does an online course that covers the first 4 days (at your pace) and then is in person for the last 5 days. This new model is great for those having a hard time getting 9 days off for the original course. The one thing you must complete is the 4-day online portion before the 5-day course start date.
What will you learn
SOLO’s Hybrid Wilderness First Responder course covers the same content as the traditional Wilderness First Responder. The difference between the programs is that the hybrid course consists of 40-hours of pre-course online learning and 40-hours or five in-person practical days at SOLO or one of its Affiliates.
The course was developed in response to the events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to see a need in the field for students to continue to learn about and gain skills in wilderness medicine and medicine in general.
In order to practice what we teach by utilizing appropriate body substance isolation/personal protective equipment (BSI/PPE), the intention of the online part of the course is for students to obtain a majority of the didactic information through a self-paced program while safely distancing from peers and instructors.
Part two is a five-day, in-person, practical-focused component of the course. If students are able to appropriately demonstrate skills learned during those five days and complete any associated assessments, they will earn their Wilderness First Responder certification at that point in time.
