Course Length: 18-20 hours
Assessment: 6-8 hours
Prerequisites:
A current CWI with a lead endorsement from either the PCIA, AMGA, CWA or 1-2 years sport climbing experience, with a high concentration in the last 6 months. In addition to the two options listed above, students need to submit a climbing resume with a minimum of 20 outdoor sport leads. Of the 20 sport leads, 10 need to be at a grade of 5.8 or higher, the remaining 10 can be of any grade. Note: This is an instructor development course, not a course to teach SCI students how to lead climb. If students do not meet the requirements or cannot climb at a 5.8 level on day one of a course, they may be asked to leave.
