SUMMARY:AMGA Single Pitch Exam - March 5-6
DESCRIPTION:The Single Pitch Instructor Exam can be taken directly following the SPI Course if the candidate successfully completed the course and meets the Exam prerequisites. However\, it is highly recommended that the SPI Course candidate takes time practicing and consolidating the skills learned on the course before Exam (6 months). \nYou meet the SPI Exam Prerequisites if you:\n\nHave successfully completed an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Course or AMGA Top Rope Site Manager Course.\nHave lead a minimum of 40 traditional rock routes. A large number of these should be at 5.6 or higher and on a variety of rock types.\nAre capable of comfortably leading 5.6 or higher traditional routes at the time of the Exam.\nAre capable of comfortably climbing 5.8 while on a top rope.\n\nAMGA Schedule of courses: amga.com/amga-course-schedules \nSPI Exam Schedule\nDay 1\nDay one will look at climbing movement and all aspects of technical systems from anchoring to assistance skills and general climbing competence. \nDay 2\nOn day two the Exam Director or SPI candidate will arrange for clients\, novice to experienced climbers\, to act as clients for the candidates to instruct in a group setting. The candidates will facilitate a complete guided day of climbing for the clients. \nThe candidate must show the examiner they have the technical and instructional skills to pass the AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Exam.
